Displaying The Boys

As we get ready for Retro Con 2018, I took a few minutes yesterday, to rearrange some of our collection. Our boxed G1 stuff has been buried, so I thought I’d give the Autobots a chance to shine! That loose Starscream above is one of the few TFs I have left from my childhood, most were lost years ago, to be replaced at conventions.

We have all the Autobot Cars, just don’t have enough room to display them all together right now 🙂

 

And for you toy, collectors, it’s the Big Week!! Retro Con 2018’s this upcoming weekend, I hope to see you there!!!

Meet Sgt. Slaughter at Retro Con 2018!

One of my favorite moments in G.I. Joe the movie, was when Sargent Slaughter and his Marauders first appear, to train Lt.Falcon! So you can only imagine how excited I am, to see Sarge again at Retro Con 2018! If you haven’t purchased your TICKETS yet, why wait?! We welcome back to Retro Con a true living legend: The one and only Sgt. Slaughter!

A wrestler for over 40 years, Sgt. Slaughter became a household name when he joined the WWF in the early 1980s with his signature “Cobra Clutch” move. Inspired by the Sarge’s drill instructor persona and wild popularity, Hasbro decided to incorporate the Sarge into their GI Joe: A Real American Hero toy line, comic, and animated series in 1985! Voicing himself, his cartoon debut was in the Season 2 Arise Serpentor Arise mini series, where we learn the Sarge is one of the GI Joe team’s greatest warriors and trainers. The character is easily a fan-favorite and is still regularly talked about by Joe fans to this day.

Sgt. Slaughter will be at the show all weekend for autograph and photo ops. We’ll have his prices up on the website very soon. Come to Retro Con and meet one of the true icons of pop culture!!

How many Retro Cons have I attended? ALL OF THEM

The BEST part about Retro Con: The relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The most welcoming con I know.

Costumes: Over 30, including Captain America, Jay Garrick, Q, Han Solo, The Governor, Classic BSG Colonial Viper Pilot, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Captain Kirk, Jack Harkness, Reverse Flash… the list goes on.

What have I bought at Retro Con: When I first started going to RetroCon, I was a vendor… and sold stuff.

Favorite Retro Con Memory: When I won a Jem shirt at the pre-party.

Favorite Retro Con Panel: Actually, it was one I ran. When Connie was Cosmos for a taping of my Cosplay Spotlite talk show, but for the first part of the interview her voice was provided by Michael McConnohie. That was awesome!
