Charlie Adler a G1 Original Favorite!

Charlie_AdlerHaving recently watched the creation of the Aerialbots, I’ve been watching Season 2 Transformers of late, I can say Silverbolt is defiantly one of my favorites! But it’s not the only voiced character by Adler… The man has talent! Enjoy the video below, and enjoy this Retro Spotlight from my original site, honoring this amazing talent!

Frank Welker… Voice Actor Extraordinaire!

Peter Cullen, Frank Welker

I love this photo above, of Frank Welker & Peter Cullen from Hascon, Frank, of course, was Megatron in the 80’s Transformers cartoon, and Peter was Optimus Prime! Both are still very active in the Transformers community, but, I myself, am more of a G1 fan!

Editor’s Note: As Thanksgiving nears, and many of us are running about getting ready for the holidays, I thought I’d spotlight one of my favorite talents! I’ve only met Frank once, and that was during a Botcon convention… But I did get to talk to him a little as I sat in a green room, Sue Blu and  John Moschitta, Jr. At one point he barked like a dog, and I thought it was Sue’s dog. I also interviewed Frank several years back for a magazine, and he wrote me back making me an honorary Decepticon.

Frank began his professional career as a comic in 1967 and went on to open for such musical acts as The Righteous Brothers… Sonny and Cher, and Diana Ross. He made his acting debut in the Elvis Presley film, Trouble With Girls. Welker was a regular in Knott’s weekly television series and later co-starred in the television series Laugh Trax with Howie Mandel and Jim Staahl. I also remember his appearing in ‘The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes’ one of my favorite Disney movies from 1969!

Then moving onto animation Frank not only was the voice of many of my favorite Transformer characters, but he was a huge part of my childhood as I watched Scooby-Doo and Jabberjaw most every school day! Then Saturday mornings it was..The Real Ghostbusters, from which Frank had a huge role as our favorite green ghost and RayStantz!

Frank has always been well known for his wonderful characters… Including that of the Transformer character’s Megatron and Soundwave!

Visiting the Ghostbuster Firehouse!

H8

It’s not the first time I’ve seen it, but it was the first time for my friend Denise! We were in New York City to see, The Lifespan of a Fact with Daniel Radcliffe, when we paid the Firehouse a visit! We were there twice on Saturday, once around 4pm and then a second time around 1am. We didn’t see any ghost though 🙂

We also paid a visit to the 9/11 memorial, it was freezing and we were running short on time, so we limited ourselves to our activities, but we both reflected on the events of that day.

We Are Who We Are!

Jazz

For those that enjoy fanfiction as much as I do, here’s another G1 related story by Jazzbot! This story follows Behind The Visor! Art above by your’s truly, I still need to color it!

Here’s a bit of a teaser…

“Get back here Ironhide! I’m not finished with you yet!”

In his quarter’s Jazz groaned as he was rudely awoken from a very short sleep cycle by the yelling right outside his door. He rubbed his optics from under his visor, then sat up and looked at the clock hanging on the far wall, which was shaped like an old-fashioned vinyl record. Autobots didn’t really need clocks, what with them having chronometers and all, but this had been a Christmas gift from Blaster, so Jazz had decided to use it. The current position of the clock’s hands indicated that it was 7AM. He’d only had four Earth hours of sleep.

“An’ I’m tellin’ you I feel fine”, another voice yelled back, this one with a distinctive Southern drawl.

All this yelling was making Jazz’s audio receptors ache. He stood up, went to the door and hit the lock. The door slid open and he stepped out into one of the Ark’s many passageways. To his right stood Ironhide, one hand on the wall, patched up in about half a dozen places. Jazz winced when he saw him. On his left stood Ratchet, the white Autobot medic, arms crossed in front of his chest and frowning. The two Autobots looked at Jazz and then glared at each other again.

“Jazz, could you please tell Ironhide to get his no-good red aft back in the repair bay”, Ratchet growled.

“Jazz, you can tell Ratchet that all my nuts and bolts are in place and I am going on duty”, Ironhide retorted before Jazz could say anything.

Jazz was not ready to handle this type of thing at this hour of the morning. He stepped back into his room and slammed the door shut. Ratchet and Ironhide looked at each other and then at the closed door.

“Now what’s gotten into him?” Ironhide shrugged.

Before Ratchet could answer, loud rock music blared out. The two Autobots covered their audials in pain.

“I think it means he doesn’t want us around here”, Ratchet said. “Now lets go”.

Before Ironhide could react, Ratchet had snatched the red robot’s hand and began dragging him back to the repair bay.
